Flyin' high

Out on the road again...

Didn't pack my "real" camera on this trip. Have to settle for cell phone camera images.

Headed for Omaha for a couple of days then off to lovely Elmira, NY.

Just sittin' listening to Jackson Browne's latest release (Time the Conqueror) that while definitely not in line with my political beliefs also is nowhere near his best work.

Good thing I have my trusty Jack & Coke (he never fails me) & my new copy of Shutterbug to keep me occupied.

November 8th 2008

Attended the Veterans Day event at Historic Flabob Airport in Riverside yesterday.  they had some vintage aircraft and a mess hall where you could purchase old fashion SOS.  Wanted some exercise and sometime to clear my head from the week so I drove across the Santa Ana River to Mount Rubidoux and climbed to the top. Not that I'm a rock climber or anything, there is a paved road.  Here's some of the pics from yesterday. The rest can be seen on my Flickr site. http://www.flickr.com/photos/agentz92505/

Garden of the Gods

Southwest airlines has been hauling ass as of late. Every flight I've been on has been early. After leaving Albuquerque we go into Denver 25 minutes early. Gave me a chance to run down to Colorado Springs and visit the Garden of the Gods.  Here's a few pics, the rest are on my Flickr site at:

Good Morning from Portland

Good morning from Portland!(Oregon that is) Too bad I didn't have my real camera with me on this trip. Woke to a beautiful sunrise backlighting Mount Hood. Unfortunately the cell phone camera could only resolve this much of the gorgeous sunrise.

Out of Albuquerque

Headed out of Albuquerque and off to Denver.

Got up early today (about 0515) and headed up to the Jemez Mountains above Los Alamos to see if I could get pics of the aspens changing color.

I'll go through those shots tonight and post them later.

Sometime this weekend I'll try to get the raw images edited and I'll replace the original jpg's on my Flickr site with those.

Doors closing, gotta go.

An Afternoon in Old Town Albuquerque

Finished up with work this afternoon and took a little side trip to Old Town Albuquerque.  Will go back tomorrow to pick up a chili pepper rista to bring home.  When I returned to my hotel I was greeted by the moon rising over the Sandia Mountains.  Tomorrow off to Los Alamos and a roundabout trip back through Jemez Pueblo.

McMenamin's Edgefield Woodside Oregon - October 9th, 2008

The property was originally a poor farm. After it fell into disrepair McMenamin's purchased it and rehabilitated it. It is now a hotel, series of restaurants and pubs, micro-brewery, winery and distillery. These are a few shots of the grounds and some of the gardens they have created. Its off of I84 east of Portland and worth a stop to check out and enjoy.
