Bored, waiting for the swallowtails to return....
We've been working on remodeling the kitchen and
dining room. Today we were working in the dining room and I had my camera at
ready in case the swallowtails showed back up.
During a extended period of boredom watching the
paint peel (literally, we're stripping about 50 years worth off) I shot the view
out the kitchen window.
At the end of the hills on the left is Lake
Matthews. The Santa Ana mountains are in the background with Santiago Peak on
the right side.

Tease from the garden
I'll upload more images to my Flickr account later
but here are a few to tease...
Speaking of tease; all week I've noticed a couple
of swallowtail butterflies (I think they are Thoas swallowtails but not certain) flitting about the
yard.
The monarchs stop all the time on the lantana and
sometimes on the bouganvilla but the swallowtails would just fly on through.
This morning they decided to visit the lantana too.
